Three intensive days in Dubai are over. Only wrap-up and evaluation remain. Together with LiU and Saab, LFV's three representatives Björn Stavås, Anders Carlsson and Olivier Petit have prepared and carried out an account of the last two years' projects in automation and drones in urban environments.
A very successful workshop for a number of invited representatives from Dubai was held on Tuesday at the Swedish Pavilion at the World Exhibition Expo 2020. The established collaboration with the University of Sharjah and DANS (Dubai ANS) is extremely efficient and supervisory authorities and community functions also participated.
The approximately 30 invited guests were given a tour of the projects followed by a tour of the Pavilion and a demonstration of a spectacular journey into space by Linköping University (LiU). The afternoon continued with a presentation of Saab followed by a very successful workshop in which the participants concurred that we are on the right track and agreed on a continuation. The day ended when H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden dropped in and was quickly briefed by LFV and LiU about the project. His Majesty is in the UAE in preparation for Swedish Day which was celebrated on Wednesday at Expo 2020, and his visit has attracted a great deal of attention. LFV will also participate in this event.
