Facts about LFV

  • LFV's main task is to provide safe, efficient and environmentally friendly air navigation services for civil and military aviation in Sweden.
  • LFV is located at 16 civil and military airports throughout Sweden, from Kiruna in the north to Malmö in the south, and at four control centers in Sweden.
  • LFV was first in the world with Remote Tower Services, RTS, in 2015. Four Swedish airports are now remotely controlled from Remote Tower Center, RTC, in Sundsvall now operated by Saab Digital Air Traffic Services.
  • RTC Stockholm is LFV's new control centre for remote tower services. From here air traffic at Swedaviaowned Kiruna Airport is remotely controlled since June 1 2021.
